I’ve dealt with many kinds of therapists over the years to assist me with my two autistic children; Clare has by far been the most passionate and caring that I have ever met. She’s devoted to her work with the parents and children. She taught me so many new things that I didn’t know about my children. She was patient and diligent while working with me while we tried different medications until we found the right match for my son. She truly knows what I’m going to say before I even say it. She connects with me on many levels and has the best interest of my children as well as myself at heart. Since working with Clare my life has become so much more manageable with my children. The advice she provided made a world of difference. I cannot thank her enough for all her time and effort. She’s a true angel on earth!

Clare has been a wonderful asset since coming to our school. She goes above and beyond and is wholeheartedly involved with the students. As a teacher, I rely on her expertise and seemingly unlimited strategies that she tailors to each individual student. Her scope of expertise reaches beyond her OT skills and she works with both the student and the teacher to help everyone be successful. She collaborates and takes feedback into consideration to have a team approach and will adjust strategies and programs as needed. Most importantly, she cares!! The best interest of each child is always front and centre of her approach. Her knowledge and suggestions have been extremely helpful and it’s always a pleasure to see her smiling face pop into our classroom.

I’ve had the privilege of many rich conversations with my colleague, Clare, about strategies and skills for supporting kids in the pediatric setting—especially those on the autism spectrum. Clare brings exceptional insight, practical strategies, and a wealth of resources to every discussion. Her compassion, attunement, and therapeutic skill are rare, and her ability to connect with and understand complex kids is truly remarkable. I’ve found her guidance invaluable in processing challenges, exploring ideas, and refining my own approaches with the children I work with. Clare is not only an excellent resource but also a mentor whose depth of understanding and commitment to connection make her contributions both unique and highly valuable.

Clare has been absolutely wonderful with my son, Bentley, who is autistic and nonverbal. She has a natural understanding of his needs and communicates with him in a way that makes him feel comfortable and supported. Clare takes the time to learn his cues, his preferences, and the things that help him feel safe. Her patience, empathy, and genuine care have made a huge difference in Bentley’s life. It’s clear she truly “gets” him, and that connection is something you can’t teach—it comes from the heart. I am so grateful to have Clare in Bentley’s life.

Having the opportunity to work alongside Clare has been an incredible blessing. Her professionalism is matched only by the genuine compassion she shows for every client. I collaborated closely with Clare as she worked with several of my students, and the progress they made under her care still moves me deeply to this day. Clare pours her heart and soul into her work, and having her support my students was truly a gift. The impact she made on their lives, in such a short time, was nothing short of inspiring and life-changing.

Working alongside Clare has been such a beneficial experience. I work with children who typically present behaviours influenced by FASD, autism, ODD, etc. Since working with Clare I have gained extended knowledge beyond the “life skills” level of support. Clare is able to paint clear pictures on how to support and establish a stronger connection with our children. Her positive energy makes it easy to seek help when in doubt and feel successful when executing new approaches. Working with Clare has been fun, meaningful and educational. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with her in my field and appreciate the passion she brings along.

My 9 year old son is autistic and was having a challenging school year. He was misinterpreting many social cues as threats and had become increasingly aggressive and oppositional with peers, school staff, and family members. Clare suggested the integrated music therapy program to help him appropriately respond to, rather than react to his environment. After just a few sessions there was a noticeable shift in his behaviour. He was calmer and more receptive to redirection and self-regulation strategies. His ability to articulate his thoughts and feelings also improved and he was more engaged during class time and in social interactions. He is now a confident child at school, eager to participate in class and happily cultivating new friendships.

Clare provided support at our school to so many students, Educational Assistants and teachers. Her knowledge and skill set has been an asset to so many children in our school. She doesn’t hesitate to offer support to students and staff not only with her knowledge and skills but with physical supports as well. If she doesn’t have the tools for the job, she is quick to locate or supply items that help support the students in our classrooms. It could be simple fidgets, flexible seating, or any number of ideas to support a student’s needs. Clare has been a valuable addition to our school not only for the students but the staff as well. When our students are supported, we feel supported, heard and valued.

Before starting therapy, our child really struggled with frustration and big emotions. Thanks to Clare’s patience and creativity, they now have strategies to calm themselves and express their feelings in healthier ways. We saw such a positive change in our child—not only in their emotional regulation, but also in the confidence and joy they’ve gained. Clare also gave us the tools to support them at home, and the difference in our family life has been amazing. We are so grateful for the growth our child has experienced with her support.
